The Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and its International Secretariat convey deep condolences and sympathy to the Russian Federation and the families of the victims of the deadly fire in the shopping mall in Kemerovo on 25 March 2018 claiming more than 60 lives, mostly children.
Upon the invitation of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the PABSEC Delegation, composed of Mr. Ramazan CAN, PABSEC Vice-President and Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, and Mr. Fuat Kuçukaydin, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated in the 138th Assembly of the IPU, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, during 24-28 March 2018.

During 17-19 March 2018, the PABSEC Delegation composed of Mr. Petar Kanev, PABSEC Vice-President (Bulgaria), Mr. Andrea Marto, PABSEC Vice-President (Albania), Mr. Ramazan Can, PABSEC Vice-President (Turkey), Mr. Igor Becic, Head of the PABSEC Serbian Delegation and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, visited Sochi in the framework of the monitoring observer election mission of the presidential elections in the Russian Federation.
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, participated in the International Conference on “The role of Parlamentarians in Boosting Economic Cooperation and Cultural Ties along the Silk Road” held in Baku, during 13-14 March 2018.
Upon the initiative of the PABSEC Secretary General, the second Meeting of the Secretaries General of the Parliaments of the BSEC Member States, took place in Istanbul, on 6 March 2018, with the participation of the Secretaries General of the inter-parliamentary organizations having observer status with the PABSEC.
The Special Meeting of the PABSEC Standing Committee, dedicated to the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Assembly, took place in Istanbul, on 1 March 2018.
