Working visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, to Tirana (Republic of Albania), 18 March 2024
On 18 March 2024, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to the Parliament of the Republic of Albania. The Secretary General was accompanied by Ms. Renata Meto, Secretary of the PABSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Affairs.
During the meeting with Ms. Lindita Nikolla, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania, the Secretary General informed about the preparatory work of the PABSEC International Secretariat for the 63rd PABSEC General Assembly, which is scheduled to be held in Tirana on 13-15 May 2024. The issues on the agenda meetings of the Bureau of the Assembly, Standing Committee and Plenary Session were discussed.
Ms. Lindita Nikolla, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania, noted the readiness of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania to hold the PABSEC General Assembly at the highest level. It was noted the importance of the active participation of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania in the activities of the PABSEC and hope was expressed for further cooperation within the PABSEC framework.
During the meeting with Mr. Petro Koci, PABSEC Vice-President, Head of the PABSEC Albanian delegation, Mr. Hajiyev expressed gratitude for his personal contribution to the PABSEC activities and discussed organizational issues of the 63rd PABSEC General Assembly.
The PABSEC Secretary General also met with the Mr. Kosta Bajraba, Head of the Cabinet of the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania. It was noted that there is a fruitful cooperation between the Parliament of the Republic of Albania and the PABSEC for many years and the opinion was expressed that the holding of the General Assembly in Tirana under the Albanian PABSEC Presidency will become an important impetus to strengthen support for the activities of the Assembly in the future. The details of preparatory work for the 63rd PABSEC General Assembly to be held in Tirana on 13-15 May 2024, were also discussed. The Meeting was attended by Ms. Irma Pashka, General Director of the Foreign Relations Service of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania, and Mr. Ejona Isurfaj, Advisor to the Speaker of the Parliament.
