Working visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General to Tbilisi, Georgia, 31 March - 1 April 2026

On 31 March 2026, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to Tbilisi and met with Mr. Shalva Papuashvili, President of PABSEC and Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia.

The Secretary General informed the PABSEC President about the ongoing activities of the Assembly and underlined the valuable contribution of the Parliament of Georgia to the development of regional cooperation within the PABSEC framework. Mr. Hajiyev expressed his appreciation for the continued support extended to the Assembly and the International Secretariat. He also informed the Chairman about the forthcoming transfer of the PABSEC Presidency from Georgia to Greece.

Discussions included organizational matters related to the forthcoming 67th PABSEC General Assembly, which will take place in Georgia on 29 June - 1 July 2026. Mr. Papuashvili reaffirmed readiness to ensure the successful organization of the PABSEC General Assembly and expressed the intention to continue contributing actively to its future activities.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Irakli Mezurnishvili, Head of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation, and Ms. Nino Bujiashvili, Secretary of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation.

During his visit, the PABSEC Secretary General also met with Mr. Irakli Mezurnishvili, Head of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation.

The discussions focused on organizational and logistical matters related to the preparation of the forthcoming 67th PABSEC General Assembly, including agenda preparation and participation of national delegations. The sides underlined the importance of close coordination to ensure the successful conduct of the General Assembly.
