Visit of Ambassador Georgi Panayotov, representative of the Bulgarian BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, to the PABSEC International Secretariat, Istanbul, 13 February 2019
On 13 February 2019, Ambassador Georgi Panayotov, representative of the Bulgarian BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Bulgaria and Mrs. Rositsa Stoyeva, Executive Manager of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat, visited the International Secretariat and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.
During the meeting, the PABSEC Secretary General informed the guests about the current and future activities of the Assembly and underlined that after July 2019 the PABSEC Presidency will be vested with the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. Mr. A. Hajiyev expressed the intention to enhance cooperation with the European Parliament during the PABSEC Bulgarian Presidency.
Ambassador Panayotov informed on the current undertakings in the BSEC within the framework of the Bulgarian BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office and confirmed the invitations to the forthcoming thematic conferences to be organized in Istanbul and Sofia under the BSEC auspices. It was underlined that it is important to increase the organization of joint events.
PABSEC Secretary General underlined that the Parliamentary Assembly contributes to strengthening multilateral cooperation within the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and expressed the interest in organising the joint meeting with the European Parliament during the PABSEC Bulgarian Presidency.
The PABSEC Secretary General wished the guests success during the Bulgarian BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office.
At the Meeting were also present Mrs. Natia Gaprindashvili, Secretary of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee, and Mrs. Pavlina Lozanova, Secretary of the PABSEC Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee.
