The Fiftieth Meeting of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee, Bucharest, 28-29 March 2018
The Fiftieth Meeting of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee was held in Bucharest, on 28-29 March 2018, upon the invitation of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of Romania.
Mrs. Sofia Voultepsi, Vice-Chair of the Committee and Member of the PABSEC Hellenic Delegation, Mrs. Carmen-Ileana Mihalcescu, Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of Romania, Mr. George Ciamba, Secretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and Mr. Ionut Valeriu Andrei, Secretary of State, Ministry of Communications and Information Society of Romania, addressed the gathering at the Opening Ceremony.
The national delegations from Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine participated in the Meeting.
The members of the Committee elected Mr. Krasimir Velchev (Bulgaria) for the post of Chairman of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee and Mr. Vahe Enfiajyan (Armenia) for the post of Vice-Chairman of the Committee, for the period of two year-term (March 2018-March 2020).
The Meting was chaired by Mr. Krasimir Velchev, Chairman of the Committee and Member of the PABSEC Bulgarian Delegation.
Mrs. Sofia Voultepsi, Vice-Chair of the Committee, presented the draft Report on “The Prospects of the Development of Digital Economy in the BSEC Member States”. Mr. Krasimir Velchev, Chairman of the Committee, presented the draft Report 161/2018 on the same subject.
The members of the Committee discussed and approved the draft Report and the draft Recommendation 161/2018 on “The Prospects of the Development of Digital Economy in the BSEC Member States”, that will be submitted to the consideration to the Fifty-First Plenary Session of the Assembly, to be held in Tirana, during 19-21 June 2018.
The Fifty-First Meeting of the Committee will take place in Kyiv, in October 2018 and the main item on the Agenda will be “Development and Support of the Small Business Enterprises in the BSEC Member States.”
