The 66th Meeting of the PABSEC Committee for Legal Affairs and International Cooperation, Borjomi (Georgia), 24-25 October 2025
The 66th Meeting of the PABSEC Committee for Legal Affairs and International Cooperation was held in Borjomi (Georgia) on 24-25 October 2025 upon the invitation of the Parliament of Georgia.
The Meeting was attended by the national delegations of Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Romania and Türkiye, as well as a representative of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat and members of the PABSEC International Secretariat.
At the opening ceremony, the participants were addressed by Ms. Sofia Voultepsi, PABSEC Vice-President, Head of the PABSEC Hellenic delegation, Mr. Irakli Mezurnishvili, Head of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation, Mr. Shota Berekashvili, Chairman of the Economic Policy Committee of the Parliament of Georgia and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.
The Committee discussed the draft Report and Recommendation 206/2025 “Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development in the BSEC Region - Legal Aspects”, which will be submitted to the 66th Plenary Meeting of the General Assembly.
The Committee elected Ms. Tsveta Karayancheva (Republic of Bulgaria) as the Vice-Chairperson of the Committee for a term of 2 years.
The Committee took note of the information on the activities of the BSEC Organization presented by Ms. Nino Kajaia, Legal Advisor of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat.
The next 67th Meeting of the Committee will be held in the Republic of Armenia in spring 2026. It was decided to discuss “Legal Dimensions of the Digital Governance and Innovation in the BSEC Region” as the main issue. Mr. Irakli Mezurnishvili, Head of the PABSEC Georgian delegation, was appointed as a rapporteur on this issue.
