The 64th Meeting of the PABSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy, Sinop (Türkiye), 14-15 May 2025

The 64th Meeting of the PABSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy was held in Sinop (Türkiye) on 14-15 May 2025 upon the invitation of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

The Meeting was attended by the national delegations of Azerbaijan, North Macedonia, Romania, Türkiye and Ukraine, as well as a representative of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat, secretaries of national delegations of Albania and Bulgaria, and members of the PABSEC International Secretariat. 

The Meeting was Chaired by Mr. Musa Guliyev, Chairman of the Committee, Member of the PABSEC Azerbaijani delegation. 

At the opening ceremony, the participants were addressed by Mr. Nazim Mavis, Member of the PABSEC Turkish delegation, Member of the Parliament from Sinop, Mr. Fatih Donmez, Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, PABSEC Vice-President, Mr. Mustafa Ozarslan, Governor of Sinop, and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.

The Committee discussed the draft Report and Recommendation 204/2025 “Current Strategies and Practices for Advancing Education and Employment for People with Disabilities in the BSEC Region”, which will be submitted to the 65th Plenary Meeting of the General Assembly.

The Committee took note of the information on the activities of the BSEC Organization presented by Ms. Sandra Vujinovic, Executive Manager of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat.

The next 65th Meeting of the Committee will be held in Azerbaijan in autumn 2025. It was proposed to discuss “Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development in the BSEC Region - Social Aspects” as the main issue. The Committee welcomed the proposal of the PABSEC Albanian delegation to have a representative of the new Albanian delegation as the Rapporteur on the Report.

The Supplementary Meeting of the 64th Meeting of the PABSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy will take place in June in Baku in the framework of the 65th PABSEC General Assembly.
