The 61st Meeting of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee, 22 February 2023
The 61st Meeting of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee was held online on 22 February 2023 with the technical support of the Senate of Romania.
The Meeting was attended by the national delegations of Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Greece, the Republic of Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Türkiye and Ukraine, as well as by a representative of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat. The Meeting was chaired by Ms. Roberta Alma Anastase, Chairperson of the Committee (Romania).
The Committee approved the draft Report and Recommendation 189/2023 “The Role of Parliaments in Enhancing Economic Security in the BSEC Member States”, which will be submitted to the Sixty-First Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly.
the members of the Committee elected Ms. Lidija Tasevska, Head of the PABSEC North Macedonian Delegation, as Vice-Chairperson of the Committee for a term of two years.
The Committee took note of the information on the current activities of the BSEC Organization, presented by Mr. Alexey Nistrean, Executive Manager of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat.
The next 62nd Meeting of the Committee will be held in Bulgaria in October 2023. The main subject will be “30 Years of the PABSEC: Enhancing the Cooperation in the Black Sea Region”. Ms. Zhalya Ahmadova, member of the PABSEC Azerbaijani delegation, was appointed the Rapporteur on the Report.
