The 47th Plenary Session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS), St. Petersburg, 13 April 2018.
On 13 April 2018 in Tavrichesky Palace was held the 47th Plenary Session of the IPA CIS chaired by the Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Mrs. Valentina Matvienko.
The Assembly was attended by representatives of the parliaments of the IPA CIS member states, representatives of international parliamentary organizations, the diplomatic corps and governmental and non-governmental organizations. The PABSEC International Secretariat was represented by the Secretary of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee, Mrs. Natia Gaprindashvili.
During the meeting the parliamentarians discussed the topic “Intercultural dialogue of the Commonwealth countries: status, prospects and legal support” and adopted a number of model laws in the sphere of culture, education, state and municipal civil service.
At the end of the plenary session, the Chairperson of the IPA CIS awarded some heads of parliaments and members of national delegations of IPA CIS, as well as representatives of IPA CIS partner organizations the Order “Commonwealth”, Medals “For Strengthening Parliamentary Cooperation”, Medals “IPA CIS - 25 Years”, Commemorative Objects “IPA CIS - 25 Years”, and the IPA CIS Certificate of Merit.
