Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between PABSEC and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, Istanbul, 15 April 2026

On 15 April 2026, a delegation comprising Mr. Ahmed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Mr. Epainete Jangrang Sende, President of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, and Mr. Zoran Ilievski, Head of the Southeast Europe Office, visited the PABSEC International Secretariat and held a meeting with the PABSEC Secretary General, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev.

During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding between the PABSEC and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace was signed, aimed at further strengthening institutional cooperation and enhancing interaction between the two organizations.

During the meeting, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, briefed the delegation on the ongoing activities of PABSEC, as well as on the preparations for the 67th PABSEC General Assembly. He expressed appreciation for the initiative to formalize cooperation, underscored the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and the promotion of mutual understanding, and reaffirmed PABSEC’s readiness to actively participate in the implementation of joint activities under the Memorandum.

Mr. Ahmed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, provided an overview of the organization’s ongoing activities and initiatives. He emphasized the significance of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding as an important step towards strengthening cooperation and promoting shared values of peace, tolerance, and dialogue, and expressed readiness to further develop cooperation with PABSEC.
