Participation of Senator Marius Humelnicu, Chairman of the PABSEC Committee on Economic and Development Policy, in the Meeting of the Parliamentary Committee of the CEI Parliamentary Dimension in Bucharest, 27 May 2026
Mr. Marius Humelnicu, Chairman of the Committee on Economic and Development Policy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) and member of the Romanian Delegation to PABSEC, participated in the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee of the Central European Initiative Parliamentary Dimension (CEI-PD), held in Bucharest on 27 May 2026.
Organised by the Senate of Romania, under the Romanian Presidency of the CEI Parliamentary Dimension, the meeting focused on the theme “Enhancing Regional Cooperation and Connectivity for Sustainable Growth in the CEI Region” and brought together parliamentarians and experts to discuss the role of connectivity, transport infrastructure and cross-border cooperation in fostering economic development, regional cohesion and resilience.
Addressing Session I, entitled “Advancing European Integration through Cross-Border Cooperation in the CEI Region”, Mr. Humelnicu presented the PABSEC perspective on transport and infrastructure as key drivers of sustainable economic growth and regional integration. He underlined the strategic importance of modern and resilient transport networks, enhanced connectivity between Europe and the Black Sea region, and strengthened parliamentary cooperation in support of infrastructure development, trade facilitation and sustainable regional prosperity. He also highlighted the contribution of PABSEC to promoting transport integration and connectivity initiatives throughout the wider Black Sea region.
