Participation of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, in the Destination Black Sea Conference, 12 November 2025, Trabzon (the Republic of Türkiye)

On 12 November 2025, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, participated in the “Destination Black Sea” Conference held in Trabzon, Republic of Türkiye. The event took place at Avrasya University and was dedicated to the promotion and sustainable development of tourism in the Black Sea Region.

The conference brought together representatives of local and regional authorities, rectors of universities, academics, and experts in tourism and regional development. The discussions highlighted the significance of the Black Sea as a cultural bridge, where the richness of traditions, history, and heritage contributes to fostering mutual understanding and strengthening cooperation among the peoples of the region. The participants emphasized the vital importance of tourism as a driving force for economic growth, intercultural dialogue, and regional cooperation.

In his statement, Mr. Hajiyev informed the participants about the PABSEC’s activities in the field of tourism, aimed at enhancing cooperation among the Member States, supporting cultural exchanges, and promoting the Black Sea Region as an integrated tourism destination. He emphasized that tourism development plays a fundamental role in strengthening mutual understanding, creating new employment opportunities, fostering prosperity, and contributing to lasting peace and stability in the region. Mr. Hajiyev noted that two BSEC Member States - Greece and Türkiye - are among the leading countries in the field of tourism development in the Black Sea Region.
