Participation of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, in the 52nd Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States, 15 June 2026
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, participated in the 52nd Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States, which was held online on 15 June 2026.
The Meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States, as well as by representatives of the BSEC Related Bodies, observers, sectoral dialogue partners and guests.
Mr. Alexander Khvtisiashvili, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, and Ambassador Lazar Comanescu, Secretary General of the BSEC PERMIS, addressed the opening of the Meeting.
The Council took note of the reports of the meetings of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials and discussed and adopted the draft resolutions, decisions and recommendations presented by the Committee of Senior Officials.
In his speech, Mr. Hajiyev informed the participants about the preparations for the forthcoming 67th PABSEC General Assembly, which will take place on 29 June – 1 July 2026 in Georgia. He also informed them about the planned events in the second half of 2026 and the outcomes of the 3rd Meeting of the Presidents of the Academies of Sciences of the BSEC Member States, which was held on 15 May 2026 in Sofia, upon the invitation of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office was transferred from Georgia to the Hellenic Republic, whose term of office begins on 1 July 2026.
