Participation of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General in the 34th Economic Forum, 2–4 September 2025, Karpacz, Polland
On 2–4 September 2025, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General participated in the 34th Economic Forum, entitled “Time of Transformation – What Will the Europe of the Future Look Like?”, which took place in Karpacz, Poland. The Forum was organized by the Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies.
The event gathered more than 6,000 participants, including state officials, former heads of state, representatives of international organizations, academics, and media. Its program featured a wide range of thematic panels, dedicated to the Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, healthcare, economy, international politics and security, and Sustainable Development.
During the event, the PABSEC Secretary General delivered a presentation addressing the key challenges faced by the Black Sea Region, including ongoing conflicts, the refugee crisis, and their negative impact on economic cooperation and development. He emphasized the region’s strategic role as a global energy and transport corridor and underlined the importance of peace, stability, and strengthened cooperation among the BSEC Member States. The Secretary General highlighted that fostering dialogue and regional cooperation remains the only sustainable path toward prosperity and security.
The Forum concluded with numerous panel discussions and bilateral meetings, reaffirming its position as a leading regional platform for dialogue between policymakers, academics, and civil society representatives in Central and Eastern Europe.
On the margins of the event, the Mr. Asaf Hajiyev held a meeting with Mr. Charnetski, former Vice-President of the European Parliament, during which they discussed the upcoming PABSEC activities and the cooperation between PABSEC and European institutions. The Secretary General extended an invitation to Mr. Ryszard Charnetski to participate in the Ayder Forum, to be convened in January 2026 with the support of PABSEC.
