Participation of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, in the 25th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), Thessaloniki, 6 July 2023
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, participated in the 25th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), in Thessaloniki, on 6 July 2023, which was chaired by Mr. Ioannis Tsakiris, Deputy Minister of Development and Investments of the Hellenic Republic.
The Board of Governors approved the Financial Statements for 2022 and assessed the Bank’s performance, which has been profitable. It was noted that in 2023, the BSTDB has continued to implement its strategy and business plan aiming at assisting the business community in the BSEC region.
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, took the floor at the Open Session and provided a brief information on the activities of the Assembly, in the first half of 2023. He noted the importance of financing the refugees and people affected by natural calamities. He also noted the important role played by the BSTDB in business development in the in the region.
During the meeting with Mr. Serhat Koksal, President of the Bank, and Mr. Asterios Tsoukalas, Secretary General of the Bank, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, discussed problems in financing humanitarian sphere and cooperation between financial institutions and educational establishments in the preparation of youth.
