Participation of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, in the 21st Annual Meeting of INSME (the International Network for Small and Medium Enterprises), 20 October 2025, Alicante (Spain)
On 20 October 2025, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, participated in the 21st Annual Meeting of INSME (the International Network for Small and Medium Enterprises), held in Alicante, Spain. The event was co-organized with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and was dedicated to the theme “SMEs’ Intangible Assets.”
The meeting was attended by representatives of government bodies, the business community, international organizations, as well as experts in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises. Discussions focused on key issues, including the protection of intellectual property, the role of public support in creating new opportunities for SMEs, and the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on business strategies.
In his intervention, Mr. Hajiyev underlined the vital role of SMEs, stressing that those engaged in this sector represent the middle class, which serves as the driving force of society. He emphasized that the successful development of SMEs depends significantly on national legislation, and in this regard, he noted the need to expand cooperation between INSME and parliamentary structures. Mr. Hajiyev proposed convening a joint meeting of PABSEC, BSEC, and INSME in Istanbul—an initiative supported by the Deputy Secretary General of BSEC, Mr. Rallis, who also took part in the meeting.
