PABSEC Participation in the BSEC-URTA Border Crossing Working Party, 29 September 2026
On 29 September 2026, Ms. Valentina Cobzareanu, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated in the meeting of the BSEC-URTA Border Crossing Working Party, held online.
The meeting focused on the outcomes of the recent visit to the Kipi Border Crossing, developments in newly reopened transport routes through Iraq, Syria and Jordan connecting the BSEC Region with the Gulf countries, and current challenges at border-crossing points.
Participants exchanged views on practical difficulties affecting international road transport and discussed measures and recommendations to improve border-crossing efficiency and strengthen regional transport connectivity.
In her intervention, Ms. Cobzareanu reaffirmed PABSEC’s readiness to support parliamentary action on border-crossing challenges and bring BSEC-URTA’s recommendations to the attention of the relevant PABSEC bodies.
