PABSEC PARTICIPATION IN THE 47th MEETING OF THE BSEC-URTA GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THESSALONIKI, GREECE, 21-23 MAY 2026
On 22 May, Ms. Valentina Cobzareanu, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated in the 47th Meeting of the BSEC-URTA General Assembly, held in Thessaloniki, Greece, at the invitation of the Union of Road Transport Associations of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC-URTA) and hosted by the Hellenic Federation of Road Transports (OFAE), which this year marks the 90th Anniversary of its establishment.
The General Assembly brought together high-level representatives of the international road transport industry from across the BSEC region and served as an important platform for assessing recent regional and global developments affecting road transport, logistics, and supply chains. Participants also reviewed the activities of BSEC-URTA since its previous Meeting held in Cappadocia on 9 October 2025, approved the Minutes of that Meeting, and considered the report of the BSEC-URTA Management Council preceding the General Assembly.
In her intervention, Ms. Cobzareanu emphasized that transport cooperation remains one of the key drivers of economic growth, regional integration, and resilience in the Black Sea region. She highlighted the growing strategic significance of the Black Sea region as a vital transport and logistics corridor connecting Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and wider Eurasian markets. Addressing the Assembly, she reaffirmed PABSEC’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation with BSEC-URTA, particularly in advancing digitalisation and smart transport solutions. The closer cooperation between PABSEC and BSEC-URTA can significantly contribute to enhancing the resilience, competitiveness, and sustainability of regional transport networks, while promoting the Black Sea region as a modern hub of logistics, connectivity, and economic development.
The next Meeting of the BSEC-URTA General Assembly will be held in autumn 2026 in Türkiye.
