Meetings of the Bureau of the Assembly and of the PABSEC Standing Committee, 29 June 2026, Tbilisi
The meetings of the Bureau of the Assembly and the PABSEC Standing Committee were held on 29 June 2026 in Tbilisi and were chaired by H.E. Mr. Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia.
The Seventy-Second Meeting of the Bureau of the Assembly adopted the Minutes of the Seventy-First Meeting of the Bureau, the Draft Agenda of the Sixty-Seventh Meeting of the Standing Committee, the Draft Agenda of the Sixty-Seventh Plenary Session, the Draft Programme of the Sixty-Seventh General Assembly, the Matters of Procedure of the Sixty-Seventh Session of the PABSEC General Assembly, the Progress Report of the Parliamentary Assembly, and the information on the participation of PABSEC representatives in international gatherings. The Bureau took note of the information on the execution of the Budget of the Assembly.
The Bureau approved the candidacies for the positions of PABSEC Vice-Presidents and for the elections of the Deputy Secretary General in charge of Administrative and Financial Matters at the Plenary Session.
The Bureau appointed Mr. Petar Kanev as PABSEC Special Representative to the International Economic and Business Organisations. The Bureau also appointed Ms. Renata Meto as Secretary of the PABSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy for a three-year term of office, starting on 1 June 2027, and Ms. Nino Bujiashvili as Secretary of the PABSEC Committee for Legal Affairs and International Cooperation for a three-year term of office, starting on 1 March 2027.
The Bureau decided to hold its next meeting on 23 November 2026 in Athens, Greece.
The 67th Meeting of the PABSEC Standing Committee approved the Minutes of the 66th Meeting, adopted the Draft Agenda of the 67th Plenary Session of the General Assembly, approved the Progress Report of the Parliamentary Assembly, as well as the proposals of the Committees concerning the issues to be considered in the second half of 2026 and the PABSEC Calendar for 2026.
The members of the Standing Committee took note of the information on the participation of PABSEC representatives in international gatherings from December 2025 to June 2026.
The Standing Committee also took note of the information on the Auditing Report for the 2025 financial year, the receipt of contributions to the 2026 Budget, and the Draft PABSEC Budget for the 2027 financial year. The Standing Committee submitted to the Plenary Session the Draft “Joint Statement of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation on the Russian Attack against the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site under Enhanced Protection”.
The Standing Committee decided to hold its next meeting in Athens on 23 November 2026.
