Participation of the PABSEC International Secretariat in the Meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials, 5 April 2023
On 5 April 2023, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, and Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, took part in the Meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials, which was organized in the BSEC Headquarters in Istanbul.
The Meeting was attended by representatives of the BSEC Member States, the BSTDB, ICBSS, the BSEC Business Council (BSEC BC), BSEC observers, and sectoral dialogue partners. The Meeting was chaired by Ms. Sanja Milinkovic, Representative of the Serbian BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
The Committee took note of the information on the recent and future activities of the BSEC PERMIS, as well as on the information regarding the meetings of the BSEC working groups. The Committee discussed the issue of the cooperation between the BSEC and the EU and took note of the information on the activities of the BSEC Related Bodies.
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev informed the participants about the plan of activities of the Assembly in the first half of 2023 and underlined that the PABSEC 30th Anniversary will be celebrated in Ankara by two events – the PABSEC Summit of the Speakers of the Member Parliaments and the 61st PABSEC General Assembly. He also informed the CSO Meeting about the participation of the PABSEC representatives in international gatherings and about the permanent Observer status that the PABSEC was granted in the Parliamentary Network of Non-Alignment Movement.
