The 60th Meeting of the PABSEC Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee, 23 March 2023
The 60th Meeting of the PABSEC Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee was held online, on 23 March 2023, with the technical support of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
National delegations of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Greece, Republic of Moldova, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine, the representative of the BSEC PERMIS and the members of the PABSEC International Secretariat took part in the Meeting. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Musa Guliyev, Chairman of the Committee (Azerbaijan).
The Committee approved the draft Report and the draft Recommendation 190/2023, “The Role of Mass Media in the Socio-Economic Development of the BSEC Member States”, that will be submitted to the Sixty-First Plenary Session of the General Assembly.
The Committee re-elected Mr. Musa Guliyev, member of the PABSEC Azerbaijani Delegation, to the post of Chairman of the PABSEC Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee, for a term of two years. The Committee also elected Mr. Victor Spinu, Member of the PABSEC Moldovan Delegation, and Ms. Jasmina Obradovic, Member of the PABSEC Serbian Delegation, to the post of Vice-Chair of the Committee.
The Committee took note of the information on the activities of the BSEC Organisation, presented by Ms. Sandra Vujinovic, BSEC PERMIS Executive Manager.
The next 61st Meeting of the Committee will take place in Russia, in October 2023. The main issue will be “The Role of Parliaments in Strengthening Child Protection System in the BSEC Member States”. Mr. Gegham Manukyan, member of the PABSEC Armenian Delegation, was appointed Rapporteur for the Report.
