Visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, to the City University of Hong Kong, 20-26 April 2018
During 20-26 April 2018, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General paid a visit to Hong Kong, upon the invitation of the City University of Hong Kong. This event was co-organized by the BSEC sectoral dialogue partner – Black Sea Universities Network (BSUN), in the framework of the 25th Anniversary of the PABSEC.
The aim of this event was to share the ideas, initiatives and experience in the scientific research, education and innovation, for the implementation of the UN 2030 SDGs. The City University of Hong Kong represents one of the leading global universities and the purpose of the visit of the PABSEC Secretary General was to establish a fruitful inter-university cooperation between the City University of Hong Kong and the BSUN.
On 23 April 2018, Mr. Hajiyev had a presentation in which he underlined the importance of the education and science for the Black Sea Region and informed the participants about the activities of the PABSEC and the BSUN. During the working lunch, hosted by the authorities of the City University of Hong Kong, were discussed the opportunities of granting scholarships for the students coming from the BSUN member universities. The sides agreed that the City University of Hong Kong will grant a number of scholarships in the College of Science and Engineering, which is a part of the City University of Hong Kong.
The authorities of the City University of Hong Kong expressed their willingness to strengthen their cooperation with the Black Sea Universities Network and invited the delegation to visit Hong Kong in the autumn 2018.
