Meeting of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, the PABSEC Secretary General with Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Tbilisi, 14 March 2019
On 14 March 2019, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, the PABSEC Secretary General, met with Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia. The Secretary General informed the Chairman of the Parliament about the current activities of the Parliamentary Assembly and handed over the official invitation of Mr. Ogtay Asadov, the PABSEC President, the Chairman of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the General Assembly in Baku on 20-21 June 2019. The Secretary General informed Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze on the Joint Meeting of the PABSEC and the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference, which will take place in Istanbul on 2 April. It was underlined that the PABSEC intensified its cooperation with the BSPC within the framework of the Memorandum on Cooperation. Also, the preparation for the PABSEC committee meeting in Batumi was considered and the hope was expressed that this event will be organised at a high level. Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze expressed full support to the activities of the PABSEC and highly appreciated the work of the PABSEC International Secretariat.
On the same day, the PABSEC Secretary General met with Mr. George Tsereteli, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and member of the Georgian Parliament. The discussion focused on enhancing cooperation between the PABSEC and the PA OSCE and the possibility of organizing a joint event in the near future.
Mr. Otar Danelia, the PABSEC Vice-President and the Head of the PABSEC Georgian delegation and Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, the Vice-Chairman of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee also participated in these meetings.
