Working visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, to Tbilisi, 27 June 2023
On 27 June 2023, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to Tbilisi and held meetings in the Parliament of Georgia and the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.
During the meeting with the members of the PABSEC Georgian Delegation, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, informed on the preparations for the autumn meetings of the PABSEC Committees and the General Assembly within the PABSEC Ukrainian Presidency. The issue of holding a meeting of the PABSEC Committee in autumn 2023 in Georgia was discussed.
During the meeting with Mr. Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the International Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, informed about the preparatory work for the autumn meetings of the PABSEC Committees and the General Assembly under the PABSEC Ukrainian Presidency. The prospects for cooperation in the BSEC region were discussed.
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, made a speech at the Georgian National Academy of Sciences during which he spoke about the activities and main tasks of the PABSEC.
During the meeting with the President of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Academician Roin Metreveli, were discussed the prospects for developing cooperation between the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and the national academies of sciences of the countries of the Wider Black Sea Region, as well as the possibility of organizing a joint event under the auspices of the PABSEC with the participation of academic circles in autumn 2023. In the meeting also participated Mr. Ramaz Khurodze, Academician-Secretary of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.
