Visit of Mr. Mehmet Uylukcu, Secretary General of the Union of Road Transport Associations of the BSEC Member States (BSEC-URTA), to the PABSEC International Secretariat, Istanbul, 19 September 2023
On 19 September 2023, Mr. Mehmet Uylukcu, Secretary General of the Union of Road Transport Associations of the BSEC Member States (BSEC-URTA), Mr. Alpdogan Kahraman, Deputy Secretary General of BSEC-URTA and Ms. Sholpan Ispulaeva, Assistant Secretary General of BSEC-URTA, visited the PABSEC International Secretariat in Istanbul and met with Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.
During the meeting, Mr. Mehmet Uylukcu informed the PABSEC Secretary General about the work of the Union and the program of the 42nd BSEC-URTA General Assembly, which will be held in Baku on 27-28 October 2023. He also informed about the developments in the field of BSEC Permit application in the countries of the Black Sea region.
The PABSEC Secretary General thanked the guests for the visit and invitation and informed them about the preparations for the 62nd PABSEC General Assembly, which will be held within the framework of the PABSEC Ukrainian Presidency in November 2023, as well as about the current activities of the PABSEC committees.
The sides noted the high level of cooperation between the PABSEC and BSEC-URTA secretariats and considered a proposal to organize a joint event in Istanbul in the first half of 2024 on the transport topic with emphasis to solving road transport problems at the borders.
