Participation of the PABSEC Deputy Secretary General in the Working Meeting of BSEC – PABSEC – Balkan and Black Sea Commission, 6 October 2025, Istanbul
On 6 October 2025, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General Ms. Valentina Cobzareanu participated in the Working Meeting of BSEC–PABSEC–BBSC (the Balkan and Black Sea Commission), which took place at the BSEC PERMIS in Istanbul.
The meeting was organized following the Memorandum of Understanding signed between PABSEC and the Balkan and Black Sea Commission of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe (CPMR) on 15 April 2025 in Istanbul. Representatives of the Tulcea County Council of Romania also attended the meeting.
During the discussions, participants addressed preparations for a High-Level Conference to be held in Patras (Region of Western Greece) in the first half of 2026. They also focused on the current situation in the Black Sea Region, key challenges and potential solutions for sustainable development, as well as other relevant topics proposed for inclusion in the agenda.
In her intervention, Mrs. Cobzareanu underlined the significance of the Black Sea Region as a bridge between Asia and Europe, enriched with cultural diversity and energy resources. She emphasized that, in these challenging times, cooperation remains the key factor in strengthening joint efforts to ensure security, stability, and prosperity in the region and to secure a better future for its citizens.
