The Fifty-Eighth Meeting of the Bureau of the Assembly and the Fifty-First Meeting of the PABSEC Standing Committee, Tirana, 19 June 2018
The meetings of the Bureau of the Assembly and of the Standing Committee took place in Tirana, on 19 June 2018.
During the Fifty-Eighth meeting of the PABSEC Bureau, the members considered: the Minutes of its Fifty-Seventh Meeting, the Draft Agenda of the Fifty-First Meeting of the Standing Committee, the Draft Agenda of the Fifty-First Plenary Session, the Draft Programme of the Fifty-First General Assembly, the Matters of Procedure of the Fifty-First Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly, the Progress Report of the Parliamentary Assembly and the participation of the PABSEC representatives in the international gatherings between June -November 2018. The Bureau took note of the information on the execution of the Assembly’s Budget.
The Bureau endorsed the candidacy for the position of PABSEC Vice-President, for the election at the Plenary Session, and determined the venue and time of the elections of the PABSEC Deputies Secretary General and the PABSEC Secretary General. The members of the Bureau took decision to appoint Ms. Renata Meto, from Albania, to the post of PABSEC Researcher-Archivist, assuming duties on 1 February 2019.
The Fifty-First Meeting of the PABSEC Standing Committee approved the Minutes of its Fiftieth Meeting, adopted the Draft Agenda of the Fifty-First General Assembly, endorsed the Progress Report of the Parliamentary Assembly, approved the proposals of the committees concerning the subjects to be considered in the second half of 2018, and adopted the PABSEC Calendar 2018. The members of the Standing Committee took note of the information regarding the PABSEC representatives’ participation in international gatherings, between December 2017- June 2018, the Activities concerning the PABSEC 25th Anniversary. The Standing Committee also took note of the information on: Auditing Report for the Financial Year 2017, receipt of Contributions to the 2018 Budget and the PABSEC Draft Budget for the Financial Year 2019. The Standing Committee approved the amendments to the PABSEC Rules of Procedure, the Staff Regulations of the PABSEC International Secretariat and the Financial Regulations.
The Fifty-First Plenary Session of the PABSEC General Assembly will be held in Tirana, on 20-21 June 2018.
