67th Meeting of the PABSEC Committee on Economic Policy and Development, Burgas, 29 September 2026
The 67th Meeting of the PABSEC Committee on Economic Policy and Development was held in Burgas, Bulgaria, on 29 September 2026 at the invitation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The Meeting was attended by the national delegations of Albania, Bulgaria, the Republic of Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Türkiye and Ukraine, as well as a representative of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat and the PABSEC Special Representative in International Economic and Business Organisations. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Marius Humelnicu, Chairman of the Committee and member of the PABSEC Romanian Delegation.
The opening ceremony was addressed by Ms. Mihaela Dotsova, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Milen Trifonov, PABSEC Vice-President and Head of the PABSEC Bulgarian Delegation, Ms. Vesna Baltina, Deputy Mayor of Burgas, Ms. Zinka Stoykova, Director of the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water in Burgas and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General.
The Committee discussed the draft Report and Recommendation 211/2026 “Climate Change in the BSEC Member States – Economic Aspects”, which will be submitted to the 68th Plenary Session of the General Assembly.
The Committee elected Mr. Milija Miletic, member of the PABSEC Serbian Delegation, as Vice-Chairman of the Committee for a term of two years.
The Committee took note of the information on the activities of the BSEC Organisation presented by Ms. Venera Domi, Executive Manager of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat.
The next, 68th Meeting of the Committee will be held in the Republic of Türkiye in spring 2027. It was proposed that “Air Transport in the BSEC Region: Connectivity, Economic Impact and Development Prospects” be discussed as the main item of the Meeting. The Committee decided that Mr. Yılmaz Büyükaydın, member of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation, will be the Rapporteur for the Report.
