61st Meeting of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial and Financial Affairs Committee, Yerevan, 19 October 2023
The 61st Meeting of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial and Financial Affairs Committee was held in Yerevan on 19 October 2023 upon the invitation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
The Meeting was attended by national delegations from Armenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, and Ukraine, as well as the representative of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat and members of the PABSEC International Secretariat. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Sergey Bagratyan, Vice-Chairman of the Committee (Armenia).
The Committee discussed the draft Report and draft Recommendation 192/2023 “Strengthening Parliamentary Cooperation in the Field of Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Assistance in the BSEC Region”, which will be submitted for consideration to the 62nd Plenary Session of the General Assembly.
The Committee heard information on the activities of the BSEC Organization presented by the Executive Director of the Permanent International Secretariat of the BSEC, Mr. Ashot Kocharyan.
The next 62nd Meeting of the Committee will take place in the spring 2024, the date and venue of the committee are negotiated. It was proposed to discuss “Prospects of Mining Sector in the BSEC Member States” as the main issue. The candidacy of Ms. Pranvera Resulaj, member of the PABSEC Albanian delegation, was proposed as the Rapporteur for the report on this subject.
