The Special Meeting of the PABSEC Standing Committee, dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of the Assembly, was held in Istanbul, on 17 January 2023.

The Meeting was attended by the national delegations of Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, the Republic of Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Türkiye and Ukraine.

The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Cemal Ozturk, PABSEC Vice-President, Head of the PABSEC Turkish Delegation. The heads of the national delegations made speeches, mentioning the efforts to strengthen the multilateral economic cooperation in the Black Sea region.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the preliminary program of the events dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the PABSEC. The PABSEC Secretary General informed the participants about the current and forthcoming activities of the PABSEC, paying a special attention to the Meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of the BSEC Member States, which will be organized in May 2023, in Türkiye, on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of the Assembly. The PABSEC Secretary General informed about the plan to organise the meeting of the representatives of the academic circles of the BSEC States.

The Standing Committee took note of the preliminary draft Statement of the PABSEC Summit.

The Standing Committee also adopted amendments to the PABSEC Rules of Procedure and the Financial Regulations presented by the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee.
