Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, and Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated in the Meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials, which took place online on 26 October 2021.

The Meeting was attended by the representatives of the BSEC Member States, the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS), as well as the BSEC observers and sectoral dialogue partners.

The Meeting was chaired by the Representative of the Georgian BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office Mr. Noshrevan Lomtatidze, Director of the Department of International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

The Committee took note of the Report of Ambassador Lazar Comanescu, Secretary General of the BSEC PERMIS, on the activities of the BSEC PERMIS, as well as the information on the meetings of the BSEC working groups that took place in the second half of 2021.

The Committee discussed the issue of cooperation between the BSEC and the EU and took note of the information on the activities of the BSEC Related Bodies.

The PABSEC Secretary General Mr. Asaf Hajiyev informed the participants about the work of the Parliamentary Assembly in the second half of 2021, the upcoming activities and stressed the importance of interaction between the BSEC and the PABSEC.

Ambassador Lazar Comanescu, Secretary General of the BSEC PERMIS, expressed his support for strengthening the interaction between the BSEC and the PABSEC and stated readiness to work actively in this direction.

In accordance with the Calendar of events of the Georgian BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office, the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States is scheduled to be held in December 2021.
