The Thirty-Eighth Meeting of the Committee was held in Novi Sad on 18-19 April 2012 with Mr. Gagik Minasyan, Chairman of the Committee (Armenia). Mr.Musa Quliyev, member of the Committee (Azerbaijan), presented a Draft Report on the “Perspectives of development of the wine-growing and wine-making sectors in the BSEC Member States”, while the Draft Recommendation on the same subject was presented by Mr. Gagik Minasyan.

 The PABSEC members underlined the vivid tendencies of impact of agriculture upon the economic growth in the BSEC countries and the interest recently displayed by farmers and entrepreneurs to winegrowing and winemaking in the Member States. It was mentioned the necessity of taken timely and result-oriented measures by the governments of the BSEC countries in order to lead this sector to absolutely new level of development and increase the share of wine-products in export.
 
During the Meeting the Committee approved the Minutes of the 37th Meeting of the Committee held in Tbilisi (Georgia) on 12 October 2011, and the draft Statement of the PABSEC on the Twentieth Anniversary of the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation. The Committee also considered and approved the backround papers prepared by the International secretariat concerning the BSEC Working Group on Energy, International Conference on Cruising Tourism and 4th Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of the Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey.
 

The Thirty-Ninth Meeting of the Committee will be held in Ankara (venue may be considered) on 12-13 September 2012. The main topic of the agenda will be The role of public-private partnership for sustainable economic development in BSEC member states”. Mr.Ismail Safi, Head of the Turkey PABSEC Delegation, was designated as Rapporteur.

Welcome to PABSEC

Established on 26th February 1993 as a parliamentary dimension of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), the PABSEC has proved to be an effective forum for inter-parliamentary dialogue in the Black Sea region. With a membership of 76 parliamentarians representing the national parliaments of the twelve BSEC Member States, the PABSEC facilitates the mobilization of efforts by the national parliaments aimed at promoting democratic values, the rule of law, pluralistic society and market economy.
The main objective of the PABSEC is to provide assistance to the national parliaments in enacting the laws that are necessary for the implementation of the projects elaborated within the framework of the Organisation of the BSEC and to establish the legislative foundation for successful multilateral economic, political and cultural cooperation in the region.
